Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or commonly known as ADHD is a mental disorder that makes you unable to focus on a single task for a long time. People suffering from this disorder have higher than normal levels of hyperactive and impulsive behavior.
What are some symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
ADHD can develop in the early years of life and it is better to start treating it as soon as the signs show up. It is true that children have a hard time focusing but if a child does not grow out of these signs or they become worse then probably the child has ADHD. Some symptoms of this mental disorder include talking too much, daydreaming a lot, being forgetful and losing things all the time, fidgeting, having a hard time resisting temptations, facing difficulty in staying still, having trouble focusing on routine tasks, being distracted easily, facing trouble in taking turns, making careless mistakes, taking unnecessary risks, and having a hard time in getting along with others.
What are the three main types of Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder?
There are three main types of ADHD. The first one is called predominantly inattentive. People suffering from this type of ADHD have a hard time focusing on a singular task. They can not organize or finish a task. They forget stuff very easily and get distracted all the time. These people cannot follow instructions and cannot finish a task. The second type is called the predominantly hyperactive-impulsive type. This is the most common type of ADHD, and people who have this type are inattentive as well as hyperactive. They are always fidgeting, they talk nonstop. It is hard for them to stay still, younger children might jump and climb a lot. It is most likely that people with this type of ADHD may snatch things from others, will not let others speak or interrupt a lot. The reason is that they are extremely impulsive and restless. They can not wait to listen and understand the directions given to them. The third type is the combined type. People with this type have symptoms of the first and second type both. They are inattentive plus impulsive and hyperactive.
What causes ADHD and which abilities does it affect?
Doctors have yet not understood what exactly causes ADHD however, we know that it is due to lower dopamine levels in the brain. It is a chemical present in the brain that signals nerves to move and function. Doctors say that people with ADHD have less gray matter. The gray matter in the brain includes the ability to speak, self-control, decision making, and muscle control.
What medications are used to treat this mental disorder?
It is hard to overcome this disorder without using medicine. there are two main classes of medicines t choose from in order to treat ADHD. The first ones are the stimulants and the other ones are the non-stimulants. Now the stimulant drugs work by increasing the dopamine and norepinephrine levels in the brain. Some medications for this include Buy Adderall, Buy Ritalin, Buy modafinil, etc. if these stimulant medicines have strong side effects on the patient then use non-stimulants like atomoxetine.
There is no solid proof but scientists say that there is a possibility that brain injury, low birth weight, premature delivery, alcohol, or tobacco intake during pregnancy can be reasons why some children get affected by ADHD.
Getting enough exercise, eating healthy food, plenty of sleep and reduced screen time can really help improve the effects of ADHD. Meditating, doing yoga, getting fresh air, spending time outdoors can really help make your mind calm.
